we were told to bring in three different objects that would be intersting to draw and express through different mediums. i split the page up into six squares where i zoomed into different sections of my objects. i used graphite, charcoal, chalk, ink, wax & colour pastels. before drawin i also tea stained the squares for more interstin effects.
I looked at two line drawings by Henri matisse & Giorgio Morandi by enlarging them on the page and practising there way of mark making. this piece of work made me realise how different lines make different shading and how they show the light on a object.
As part of our research we had to look at different relief printing tecniques.
Relief printing is a process were the impressions by the uncarved surfaces of te printing elements, which has been inked with a roller. the cut areas do not usually print because they not normally inked. the paper is pushed into these sunken areas, creating an embossed effect. The raised areas print when the printin element is inked in the same way as the etching plate, leaving ink in the recesses. woodcut & linoprint are usually used for relief printing.
In our lesson we had to choose a section from objects arranged in the centre of te room. We had to focuse on 3 objects that are at different angles & distances from echa other. After doing a simple line drawing we had to use ink & chalk to show the different tones, shading & textures. By using the brush end you can get alot of different effects such as scratchy or dark lines. This helped to me learn how to use different mediums to create interesting effects.
when i was research gareth pugh for my fashion i found this video and loved the way it has been made and presented.
the archtecture and design on the door is really interesting and could be something that i research.
found these patterns and loved them :)
i reblogged this because when i saw it i immediately thought about screen printing or tie dying. these colours go together really well and i could use this to make a pattern on a future garment.
